Meet your surgeon, Miss Leïla Touil

MBChB, BSc, MRES, FRCS (Plast)

A leading Consultant Plastic Surgeon dedicated to providing personalised, high-quality care that’s both cutting-edge and compassionate.

Academic and medical background

Leïla is a UK-trained Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust where she undertakes head and neck cancer surgery, complex reconstruction, and microsurgery, while leading the facial nerve service for patients with facial paralysis. She also practices in the private sector across Manchester and Yorkshire.

After graduating from Leeds Medical School where she also gained a degree in neuroscience (BSc), Leïla trained in nationally selected core-surgery and higher-specialty plastic surgery rotations across multiple major surgical centres in the North West.

To develop her expertise further, she commenced a competitive two-year Advanced Surgical Fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at a leading unit in Norwich where she worked at the forefront of reconstructive oncology.   Leila also undertook an aesthetics fellowship rotation in the North West, where she learnt directly from some of the UK’s most respected surgeons.

Her extensive experience and training in reconstructive surgery alongside her patient-centred approach make Leïla a highly skilled and sought-after surgeon.

Commitment to education

Alongside her clinical work, Leïla has always been dedicated to education and research. She holds a Master’s by research degree, has contributed to medical literature, publishing over 20 peer-reviewed papers, authored and edited surgical textbooks, and regularly teaches and mentors trainees. She’s also on the Advisory Board for Doctors Academy, where she organises and runs courses for plastic surgery trainees.

My philosophy & perspective

I want every patient I work with to feel heard, supported, and confident in their choices.

My philosophy remains to provide expert, considered care, with precision and integrity. As a surgeon trained in all aspects of reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery, I’m able to:

  • Undertake complex cases such as restoring appearance and function after trauma or cancer.

  • Help women to reclaim their body following the physiological changes caused by pregnancy and breastfeeding.

  • Support patients to age with confidence, achieving a fresher, brighter version of themselves.

For me, no two patients are the same, so having a wide skill set and breadth of techniques means I can tailor every individual procedure with dedicated care to each person.

I’m delighted to now offer my services in the private sector, creating a welcoming space where every patient can feel safe, empowered, and supported on their journey.

“Leila’s in-depth knowledge of facial anatomy and reconstructive pathways makes her uniquely placed to treat patients requiring both functional and aesthetic facial surgery and her wide-ranging experience enables her to approach surgery with both technical expertise and a deep appreciation of the individual patient’s goals and needs.”
