Facelift techniques range from short-scar (or “mini”) facelifts, which can often be performed under local anaesthetic, through to the increasingly popular deep plane face and neck lift. A deep plane facelift is an advanced technique that lifts not only the skin but the deeper supporting layer known as the SMAS, repositioning them together to restore the face’s natural structure and youthful harmony. Because the SMAS continues into the platysma muscle in the neck, this method also gently elevates and smooths the neck without creating a tight or “windswept” appearance. For patients with heavier neck tissues, additional sculpting may be recommended.

The procedure uses discreet incisions around the hairline and the ears, allowing the skin and the deeper supporting layers to be lifted as one unit. This helps to rebuild the foundational shape of the face, creating a smooth, refined and natural contour. All incisions are closed with fine stitches to support excellent healing and minimise visible scarring.
